Acclaimed health speaker Dr. Marla Shapiro’s new show, Dr. Marla & Friends, will address evergreen topics such as health, diet, and lifestyle choices in a new interactive format and will air on the CTV News Channel. “This show is about taking charge of your health and incorporating any expertise you can to improve your life,” says Dr. Shapiro. “My aim with this show is to arm viewers with information so they can make wiser choices, take the confusion out of medical matters, and offer a point of contact for people with questions.”
Marketing maven, business speaker and co-star of CBC’s Dragon’s Den Arlene Dickinson took on a new challenge recently, as she guest starred on CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries. The hardest part? Being restricted to lines, rather than getting to say “whatever I want” like she can (and does, with conviction) on Dragon’s Den.

HBO will adapt Carl Hiaasen’s 2004 novel Skinny Dip — a mystery about an heiress who swims to safety while holding onto a bale of marijuana — for television, reports Variety. Michael Oates Palmer and Michael Keaton, who has a wide-ranging first-look deal at HBO, will executive-produce.
